AKTIVITAS FARMAKOLOGI DAN KADAR SENYAWA FENOLIK TOTAL DARI TANAMAN ANDONG MERAH (Cordyline fruticosa L. A. Chev.)

Abstract

Tanaman andong merah (Cordyline fruticosa L. A. Chev) merupakan jenis tanaman hias yang banyak digunakan sebagai pengobatan tradisional di berbagai negara. Metabolit sekunder yang terkandung dalam tanaman andong merah antara lain polifenol, flavonoid, saponin, alkaloid, steroid dan triterpenoid. Studi literatur ini bertujuan mengkaji artikel yang diperoleh untuk memberikan informasi terkait aktivitas farmakologi dan kandungan senyawa fenolik total dari tanaman andong merah. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penelusuran artikel nasional maupun internasional dengan bantuan Google Scholar. Kata kunci yang digunakan yaitu “Cordyline fruticosa L. A. Chev atau Cordyline terminalis Kunth”. Kriteria inklusi yang digunakan yaitu literatur primer yang dipublikasi pada tahun 2011-2020 yang membahas tentang aktivitas farmakologi dan kadar senyawa fenolik total dari tanaman andong merah. Kriteria eksklusi yang digunakan adalah artikel yang membahas tentang aktivitas farmakologi dan kadar senyawa fenolik total dari tanaman andong merah yang dipublikasi sebelum tahun 2011 dan tidak bisa diakses secara full text. Analisis 11 jurnal hasil penelitian pada studi literatur ini menunjukkan bahwa tanaman andong merah berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai agen antioksidan, antidiabetes, antidiare, antibakteri, sitotoksik, hemostatik, antimalaria, analgesic, antiinflamasi dan antipiretik. Ekstrak metanol dari daun tanaman andong merah memiliki kadar senyawa fenolik total sebesar 106,2 mg/g GAE.
