Abstract

Penyakit diabetes mellitus merupakan sekelompok
kelainan heterogen yang ditandai dengan kenaikan kadar glukosa
dalam darah atau hiperglikemia. Penyakit ini merupakan suatu
ancaman bagi kesehatan manusia didunia. Seiring dengan
perubahan gaya hidup, angka kesakitan dan kamatian akibat
diabetes mellitus terus meningkat setiap tahunnya. Banyak pasien
diabetes mellitus yang tidak menyadari dirinya mengidap penyakit
diabetes mellitus. Hal ini disebabkan minimnya informasi dan
pengetahuan masyarakat tentang diabetes mellitus terutama gejala
dan penyebabnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui
hubungan tingkat pengetahuan dan kecemasan penderita diabetes
mellitus. Metode: Penelitian ini mengguanakan jenis penelitian
analitik kuantitatif dengan mengguanakan pendekatan Cross
Sectional, dan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah proposional
random sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner
untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan dan HARS (Hamilton Anxiety
Rating Scale) untuk mengetahui tingkat kecemasan. Hasil: Dari
populasi penelitian sebanyak 333 orang, dan keseluruhan sampel
berdasarkan rumus di atas yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi adalah 77
orang. Hasil menunjukan mayoritas sampel memiliki pengetahuan
kurang sebanyak 51,90% dan mengalami cemas sedang sebanyak
50,60%. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang sangat signifikan
antara tingkat pengetahuan dengan tingkat kecemasan penderita
diabetes mellitus dibuktikan dengan uji chi square α < 0,05.
